Arch of Titus, Via Sacra, Rome
Arch of Titus located in the highest point of Via Sacra. Its design tells one of the historical events that happened in Rome. The arch of Titus is 50 ft height. It was built to honor Titus posthumously.There is another arch that looked like Titus, it was in the area of the Circus Maximus, but Titus arch is the only survived arch in its structure and sculptural fragments. It is used as a passageway and it is represented as political and religious way. After the Jewish wars were ended between 66-70.. Arch of Titus filled with coffers design inside the arch, that looks like rectangular within square of circle shape, and other storytelling sculptures that tell the victory of the Jewish wars. Arch of Titus consider as small arch compare to other arches, but its decoration is more modest. The are was made out of Marble mostly. The arch is large with rugged and not columns. It has thick and wide base that have been rebuilt by adding some pieces on them. Even though the arch has lots of cracks of them due to nature causes, it still obtains its story behind it. The arch of Titus was design in a time of art development in Roman.

In the main side of the arch, it has the inscription that says:
SENATVS POPVLVSQVE·ROMANVS DIVO·TITO·DIVI·VESPASIANI·F(ILIO)
VESPASIANO·AVGVSTO (CIL 6.945)
It speaks to Roman's people directly that This is "an example of shrewd power politics on the part of the Emperor Domitian" (Khan Academy). There are many arches that were built in different countries. they were inspired by the Arch of Titus. for instance, the arch in Paris called Arc De Triomphe in 1806, and also in New York City, there is Stanford White's Arch in Washington Square.
